These are a list of some of my past favorite quotes from a few amazing individuals.
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
“Don't you quit. You keep walking, you keep trying, there is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon. Some come late. Some don't come until heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come. It will be alright in the end. Trust God and believe in Good Things to Come.”
“God is eagerly waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as he always has. But he can't if you don't pray, and he can't if you don't dream. In short, he can't if you don't believe.”
"No misfortune is so bad that whining about it won’t make it worse. "
President Thomas S. Monson
"Don't save something for a special occasion. Every day of your life is a special occasion.
“The past is behind, learn from it. The future is ahead, prepare for it. The present is here, live it.”
Amidst the confusion of the times, the conflicts of conscience, and the turmoil of daily living, an abiding faith becomes an anchor to our lives.
Perhaps the surest test of an individual's integrity is his refusal to do or say anything that would damage his self-respect.
“May I share with you a formula that in my judgment will help you and help me to journey well through mortality... First, fill your mind with truth; second, fill your life with service; and third, fill your heart with love.”
Courage, not compromise, brings the smile of God's approval.
“He who gives money gives some, he who gives time gives more, and he who gives of himself gives all.”
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
“The heavens will not be filled with those who never made mistakes but with those who recognized that they were off course and who corrected their ways to get back in the light of gospel truth.”
“What we love determines what we seek. What we seek determines what we think and do. What we think and do determines who we are — and who we will become.”
“What you create doesn’t have to be perfect. So what if the eggs are greasy or the toast is burned? Don’t let fear of failure discourage you.”
We will receive the joy of forgiveness in our own lives when we are willing to extend that joy freely to others. Lip service is not enough. We need to purge our hearts and minds of feelings and thoughts of bitterness and let the light and the love of Christ enter in. As a result, the Spirit of the Lord will fill our souls with the joy accompanying divine peace of conscience.”
“The happiest people I know are not those who find their golden ticket; they are those who, while in pursuit of worthy goals, discover and treasure the beauty and sweetness of the everyday moments.”
President Henry B. Eyring
“You could ask yourself, 'How did God Bless me today?' If you do that long enough and with faith, you will find yourself remembering blessings. And sometimes you will have gifts brought to your mind which you failed to notice during the day, but which you will then know were a touch of God's hand in your life.”
“You may have confidence in the Lord’s service. The Savior will help you do what He has called you to do, be it for a time as a worker in the Church or forever as a parent. You may pray for help enough to do the work and know that it will come.”
“Love is the motivating principle by which the Lord leads us along the way towards becoming like Him, our perfect example. Our way of life, hour by hour, must be filled with the love of God and love for others.”
I am so thankful for these and the other general authorities for their constant example of strength, charity, hope and love. Their love of Christ and love for his children truly is remarkable. Im always thankful for General Conference as it is a time to reflect on what we can be doing better.
